Welcome!

Welcome to the web site for non-profit Teardrop owners of the Pacific Northwest and western Canada. This organization is dedicated to fun times, great events and wonderful fellowship of Teardrop owners.

WHAT IS TOW ALL ABOUT?

TOW stands for Teardroppers of Oregon and Washington - a great name for those enthusiasts who tow their icons of the past.  TOW is a friendship and information link for those who are, or wannabe, teardrop trailer owners. This is a very informal organization with no dues, no officers, no meetings and no by-laws JUST FUN! There are get-togethers organized by individuals or couples who take the initiative to organize an outing or event. There is also a newsletter called the TOW Line.

TOW gatherings are primarily campouts. But they also include potlucks, teardrop displays at car/RV shows and museum functions plus occasional field trips to trailer, truck or car museums. A brochure has been prepared that includes vendor and manufacturer resources for those who want to build or buy a TD or make innovative improvements to their teardrop trailer.

WHO ARE TEARDROPPERS?

Teardrop owners are pretty laid-back individuals who like the simple life and love to camp. Lots are avid do-it-yourselfers and have built their own teardrops or restored vintage ones. About half own a vintage car. Probably 25% of Teardroppers own vintage trailers built from the 1930's to 1950's. Maybe 60% are home-built with the rest being manufactured new tears. Some who join us own other vintage camp trailers or are still tent camping as wannabes. Many are excellent cooks who are into Dutch-oven cooking or compete in chili cook-offs. You can count on good food at TOW outings!

This newsletter is published three to four times a year. It's FREE via E-mail or will be sent by snail mail only in January (donations for postage appreciated). The TOW Line is mailed as a blind copy (BCC:) to protect the identity of your email address.  The newsletter shares teardrop travel adventures, innovative tips, and a calendar of information for upcoming events and outings.
